This stairway path doesn’t start in the flats, but it almost feels like it does. It starts right near campus and there are frat houses, apartments, and lots of rental units mixed in with the single-family homes. Then just a few blocks further up the hill the houses are large, Tilden Park opens out in front of you, and you feel like you are in the country. I love both kinds of neighborhoods, and I love the feeling of suddenly finding myself somewhere new.
Incidentally, this set of stairways is only three blocks away from where I went to graduate school.
